Service Fusion Usage Fees: Texting and Call Charges

Work out what Service Fusion's texting and voice features actually cost you per month, per tier, and per technician, using only published plan prices.

Service Fusion Usage Fees: Texting and Call Charges — Field Service Management pricing comparison

Service Fusion does not publish a per-text or per-minute usage rate. What it publishes is a plan fee, and the messaging you get is decided by which tier you buy. Text Messaging Alerts sit on all three tiers. Integrated Voice & Text starts at Plus, $325 per month billed annually. So the real “usage fee” is the $117 a month gap between Starter and Plus.

Key points

  • Service Fusion’s pricing page lists no per-message, per-minute or per-number charge for texting or calling. Only plan fees are published.
  • Text Messaging Alerts are included on Starter ($208/mo annual), Plus ($325/mo annual) and Pro ($533/mo annual). Integrated Voice & Text is on Plus and Pro only.
  • Moving from Starter to Plus to get voice and text costs $1,404 a year on annual billing, or $1,644 a year on monthly billing.
  • Every plan carries unlimited users, so at eight users Plus works out at $40.63 per user per month and at twenty users, $16.25.
  • ServiceCall.ai, listed as an add-on on all three tiers, has no published price. Any call-handling cost attached to it is unverified.

What does Service Fusion actually charge for texting?

Nothing separately, according to the page. The Service Fusion pricing page lists features by tier and does not attach a rate card to messaging. There is no “$0.01 per SMS” line, no bundled message allowance, no overage table. This matters because a lot of field service software does meter messaging, and buyers arrive expecting to find that number here. It is not there.

Text Messaging Alerts and Integrated Voice & Text are listed as distinct features, which is the whole basis of the tier gap. Service Fusion does not define either term on the pricing page. The reasonable reading is that alerts are outbound notifications and Integrated Voice & Text is a fuller phone and messaging layer, but that reading is inference, not published fact. Confirm it with sales before you buy on it.

Assumptions behind every number below

State these first, because they are what changes the answer.

Close-up of an industrial air conditioner setup on a building wall, showcasing pipes and a ladder.

  1. All prices come from the Service Fusion pricing page as scraped on 30 August 2026. Annual prices are the discounted figures Service Fusion shows; monthly prices are the undiscounted ones.
  2. Annual billing is charged as one payment at sign-up. The monthly-equivalent figures below are that annual payment divided by twelve, not a monthly instalment you can stop.
  3. Unlimited users applies on every tier. Service Fusion states this twice, in the plan cards and in its FAQ.
  4. No per-message or per-minute usage fee is included, because none is published. If Service Fusion charges one, every total below is a floor, not a full cost.
  5. ServiceCall.ai and GPS Fleet Tracking are excluded from all totals. Both are add-ons with no published price.

What is the full annual cost at every tier and billing mode?

Take the published monthly figures and multiply by twelve. Annual plans are advertised at a monthly rate billed annually, so the annual payment is that rate times twelve.

Starter annual: $208 × 12 = $2,496 Starter monthly: $245 × 12 = $2,940 Plus annual: $325 × 12 = $3,900 Plus monthly: $382 × 12 = $4,584 Pro annual: $533 × 12 = $6,396 Pro monthly: $627 × 12 = $7,524

PlanMonthly rateAnnual-billed rateCost per year, monthlyCost per year, annualSaved by paying annually
Starter$245$208$2,940$2,496$444
Plus$382$325$4,584$3,900$684
Pro$627$533$7,524$6,396$1,128

The saving scales with tier because the discount is a percentage. Check it: 444 ÷ 2,940 = 15.1%. 684 ÷ 4,584 = 14.9%. 1,128 ÷ 7,524 = 15.0%. All three land on the advertised 15%, so the published monthly and annual numbers are internally consistent. That is worth verifying rather than assuming, because rounded tier prices often drift a point or two off the headline discount.

What does the voice and text upgrade cost you?

This is the number the title asks for. Integrated Voice & Text is the feature that first appears at Plus, so its price is the Starter-to-Plus gap.

Annual billing: $325 − $208 = $117 per month, or $3,900 − $2,496 = $1,404 per year. Monthly billing: $382 − $245 = $137 per month, or $4,584 − $2,940 = $1,644 per year.

If you also want Open API Integration, you are looking at the Starter-to-Pro gap instead:

Annual: $533 − $208 = $325 per month, $6,396 − $2,496 = $3,900 per year. Monthly: $627 − $245 = $382 per month, $7,524 − $2,940 = $4,584 per year.

Upgrade pathMonthly gap, annual billingYearly gap, annual billingMonthly gap, monthly billingYearly gap, monthly billing
Starter → Plus (adds Voice & Text, Job Photos, Inventory, Job Costing)$117$1,404$137$1,644
Plus → Pro (adds Open API, Custom Docs, eSign, Portal, Progress Billing)$208$2,496$245$2,940
Starter → Pro$325$3,900$382$4,584

One oddity worth flagging: the Starter-to-Pro annual gap is $325, which is exactly the Plus annual price. The Plus-to-Pro annual gap is $208, exactly the Starter annual price. The tier ladder is arithmetically tidy in a way that suggests the prices were set as multiples rather than derived from cost. That is not a problem, but it does mean there is no hidden logic to reverse-engineer.

The Starter-to-Plus jump is not only voice and text. It also brings Job Photo Uploads, Inventory Management and Job Costing across from the add-on column into the included column. If you would have bought those anyway, the true cost attributable to voice and text is lower than $117 a month, but Service Fusion does not price the add-ons separately, so that split cannot be computed from published figures.

What does each plan cost per technician?

Because users are unlimited, the per-user figure is just the plan fee divided by headcount. This is the table most contractors actually need, since it is the only way to compare a flat-fee product against per-seat competitors.

Working, using Plus annual at $325 a month: 1 user: 325 ÷ 1 = $325.00 3 users: 325 ÷ 3 = $108.33 5 users: 325 ÷ 5 = $65.00 8 users: 325 ÷ 8 = $40.63 12 users: 325 ÷ 12 = $27.08 20 users: 325 ÷ 20 = $16.25

Same division applied across all three tiers, annual billing:

UsersStarter $208/moPlus $325/moPro $533/mo
1$208.00$325.00$533.00
2$104.00$162.50$266.50
3$69.33$108.33$177.67
4$52.00$81.25$133.25
5$41.60$65.00$106.60
6$34.67$54.17$88.83
8$26.00$40.63$66.63
10$20.80$32.50$53.30
12$17.33$27.08$44.42
15$13.87$21.67$35.53
20$10.40$16.25$26.65
25$8.32$13.00$21.32
30$6.93$10.83$17.77

Read your own row. A three-van HVAC shop with an owner, a dispatcher and three techs is five users, so Plus costs $65 per person per month. A twenty-person operation on the same plan pays $16.25. Same software, same features, four times the difference in per-head cost.

At what headcount does a flat fee beat a per-seat price?

Reverse the calculation. Instead of asking what Service Fusion costs, ask how many users you need before it undercuts a hypothetical per-seat rate. Divide the plan fee by the competitor’s per-seat rate and round up.

Plus annual at $325 against a $49 seat: 325 ÷ 49 = 6.63, so 7 users. Plus annual at $325 against a $99 seat: 325 ÷ 99 = 3.28, so 4 users.

Competitor per-seat rateStarter $208 breaks even atPlus $325 breaks even atPro $533 breaks even at
$29/user/mo8 users12 users19 users

$49/user/mo5 users7 users11 users
$69/user/mo4 users5 users8 users
$99/user/mo3 users4 users6 users
$149/user/mo2 users3 users4 users

Each cell is the plan fee divided by the seat rate, rounded up to the next whole user. At that headcount and above, the flat fee is the cheaper structure. Below it, per-seat wins.

The seat rates in the left column are illustrative brackets, not quotes from any named vendor. Do not read them as any competitor’s published price. Slot in whatever figure your actual alternative quotes you and do the same division.

The practical takeaway: Service Fusion’s unlimited-users pricing is a growth bet. A two-person shop on Pro is paying $266.50 per head, which is worse than almost any per-seat product. A fifteen-person shop on Pro is paying $35.53 per head, which is competitive. If you are small and staying small, the flat fee is working against you.

Two things buyers commonly get wrong

Misconception one: unlimited users means the software is cheap. Unlimited users means the price does not rise with headcount. It does not mean the price is low. Starter is $2,496 a year before you add a single technician. A sole operator pays the same $2,496 as a shop with twelve people. Per head, the sole operator is paying $208 a month and the twelve-person shop is paying $17.33. The word “unlimited” is doing work for large buyers and nothing at all for small ones.

Misconception two: the annual discount is free money. It is 15%, and on Pro that is $1,128 a year, which is real. But Service Fusion states the annual plan is “charged as one annual payment at sign-up”. On Pro that is $6,396 leaving your account on day one. Compare that to $627 a month. If cash flow is tight in your slow season, the 15% saving may cost more in working capital than it returns. Service Fusion also states there are no contract requirements, which reads as no minimum term on monthly. Paying twelve months up front is a commitment regardless of what the contract says, since the money is already gone.

When these numbers are wrong

Concrete cases where the tables above will not match your invoice.

A usage fee exists but is not published. This is the most likely failure. Voice and SMS carry real carrier costs, and vendors that bundle telephony usually meter it somewhere. If Service Fusion passes through per-minute or per-message charges under Integrated Voice & Text, they are not on the pricing page and are not in any total here. Ask directly: is there any per-message, per-minute, per-number or per-10DLC-registration charge on top of the plan fee?

Payment processing. Integrated Payments and Payment Processing are listed on all three tiers, but no processing rate is published. Card processing is never free. On $40,000 a month of card volume, a one-percentage-point difference in rate is $400 a month, which dwarfs the $117 voice and text gap. That number is not on the pricing page and cannot be computed from it.

Add-ons you will actually need. ServiceCall.ai and GPS Fleet Tracking are add-ons on every tier with no published price. On Starter, Job Photo Uploads, Inventory Management, Job Costing, Custom Documents, eSign, Customer Web Portal and Progressive Billing are all add-ons too. A Starter plan with four add-ons bolted on could easily cost more than Plus, but there is no way to check that from published figures.

Onboarding. Service Fusion says all plans include personalised onboarding, phrased as included rather than free. If an implementation fee exists, it is not published, and first-year totals would be higher than the annual figures above.

Prices change. These figures were read on 30 August 2026. Re-check before you sign.

What could not be verified

Every vendor referenced here published a price we could read. The unverified items are not vendors but line items within Service Fusion’s own pricing:

  • Any per-message or per-minute usage rate for texting or calling. Not published.
  • ServiceCall.ai pricing. Listed as an add-on on all three tiers, no price given.
  • GPS Fleet Tracking pricing. Same.
  • Individual add-on prices on Starter and Plus. None published.
  • Payment processing rates. Not published.
  • Any onboarding, setup, data migration or 10DLC registration fee. Not published.
  • The functional difference between Text Messaging Alerts and Integrated Voice & Text. The pricing page names both but defines neither.

No figure has been supplied for any of these. Where a competitor site quotes one, it did not come from the Service Fusion pricing page.

What to check before you buy

Take this list to the sales call. Sales is at (817) 230-8203 per the Service Fusion site.

  1. Is there any per-message, per-minute or per-phone-number charge on top of the plan fee? Get it in writing.
  2. Is there a 10DLC or A2P registration fee for business texting, and who pays the carrier’s monthly campaign charge?
  3. What exactly does Text Messaging Alerts do on Starter that Integrated Voice & Text does not? If Starter handles your use case, you save $1,404 a year.
  4. What is the card-present and card-not-present processing rate, and is there a monthly gateway fee? At any real volume this outweighs the tier choice.
  5. What do ServiceCall.ai and GPS Fleet Tracking cost per month, and is GPS priced per vehicle?
  6. On Starter, what do the individual add-ons cost? Price your actual add-on stack against the flat Plus fee before choosing Starter.
  7. Is onboarding genuinely at no charge, or included in the first-year price?
  8. Confirm annual billing terms. Is the full $2,496, $3,900 or $6,396 taken at sign-up, and what is the refund position if you leave at month four?
  9. Confirm unlimited users covers office staff, subcontractors and read-only accounts, not just field technicians.
  10. Divide your quoted price by your actual headcount and compare against the per-user table above before you compare against anything else.

Common questions

Does Service Fusion charge per text message?
Service Fusion does not publish a per-message rate on its pricing page. What it publishes is which plan level includes which messaging feature. Text Messaging Alerts appear on all three tiers: Starter at $208 per month billed annually, Plus at $325, Pro at $533. Integrated Voice & Text appears only on Plus and Pro. Any per-message or per-minute usage charge beyond the plan fee is not stated publicly, so treat it as a question for sales rather than a known number.
How much does Service Fusion voice calling cost?
There is no separately priced voice product on the published page. Integrated Voice & Text is bundled into Plus and Pro. The cheapest published route to it is Plus at $325 per month billed annually, which is $3,900 a year. Against Starter at $208 per month, or $2,496 a year, the voice and text upgrade costs $1,404 a year. ServiceCall.ai is listed as an add-on on every tier with no published price.
Is Service Fusion cheaper per user than per-user field service software?
Service Fusion charges a flat plan fee with unlimited users on every tier. At Plus annual, $325 a month, one user costs $325 per user per month, three users cost $108.33 each, five cost $65, eight cost $40.63, and twenty cost $16.25. The flat fee only wins once your headcount is high enough that the divided cost falls under a per-seat competitor's rate. Below roughly four or five users it is usually the expensive option.
What is the annual discount on Service Fusion?
Service Fusion states a 15% discount for annual billing on any plan. Monthly Starter is $245 against $208 annual, Plus is $382 against $325, Pro is $627 against $533. Over twelve months that saves $444 on Starter, $684 on Plus and $1,128 on Pro. Annual is charged as one payment at sign-up, so the saving comes with the full year committed up front rather than spread across the year.
Which Service Fusion plan do I need for two-way texting with customers?
Plus at minimum. Starter lists Text Messaging Alerts only, which is outbound notification. Integrated Voice & Text first appears on Plus, $325 per month billed annually or $382 monthly. Pro adds Open API Integration on top at $533 annual or $627 monthly. If two-way customer texting is the reason you are buying, Starter is not the plan, and the gap you are paying to cross is $117 a month on annual billing.
